The old saying “it takes a village” could not be more true for all of us here at Harbor House. We rely on the kindness of the Louisville community in order for us to serve adults with disabilities and their families. Our donors, volunteers and advocates make it possible for us to provide life-changing programs and services for our participants.
With the holidays coming up, we cannot think of a better time to show appreciation to our “village”. On Thursday, Dec. 7 from 6-9 p.m. we will host our annual Christmas Appreciation Dinner at Incarnation Parish Center. The yearly celebration is a time for us to give back to those who give so much to us. We will honor our donors, volunteers and participants with a delicious meal, musical entertainment and an appearance from Santa and friends. As always, it will be a fun evening with plenty of Christmas cheer to go around!
This event has always been a huge success and this year should be no different! Of course, in order for Harbor House to have a successful event, we really rely on our generous volunteers. We need a few helping hands who are willing to assist us with clean up after the celebration is over. Don’t worry! Volunteers will still be able to enjoy all the festivities! Will you help us make this year’s Christmas dinner the best one yet? To sign up as a volunteer for this event, contact Taylor Morgan at 502-719-0072 or email@example.com.
Each Christmas season, our 96 wonderful participants open gifts, just as they would on Christmas morning. In order for Harbor House to purchase these gifts, we rely on kind-hearted individuals in the community to sponsor our participants, or as we like to call them, “Darling Ducklings”. Believe us when we say it is the most heartwarming experience watching our Darling Ducklings open their Christmas gifts. Now, just imagine if you were one of the individuals who helped purchase those gifts! All it takes is buying ONE gift, $50 or less, to make Christmas extra special for an adult with disabilities. If you would like to sponsor one of our Darling Ducklings, contact Marla Moore at 502-719-0072, ext. 525 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
As you can see, it really does take a village to make Harbor House the successful organization that it is today, and while we may be biased, we believe our village is the best! Whether you are a regular donor, a Darling Duckling sponsor, a volunteer or an advocate of Harbor House, we sincerely thank you. It is because of your compassion and generosity that we are able to serve the amazing community that we do. We hope to see you at our Christmas Appreciation Dinner so that we can properly thank you and express our gratitude.
